JIBC EXAMS AND CERTIFICATES

As of November 1st, 2018, any course administered by the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) will be subject to the following regulations concerning course exam.

For courses such as BST and AST, exams will be taken online directly through the JIBC portal (only applies to British Columbia courses, not those in other provinces).

These directives are from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and apply to Quality Security Training Inc as well as to all other private security training companies offering various levels of security industry certification.

It is crucial for all students to take note of the following:

  • Exams are written at the same location where you took your course.
  • Students may bring their own tablets or wifi-enabled laptops, otherwise tablets will be provided by Quality Security Training to those who do not have their own devices (phones should not be used to access the online exam).
  • Quality Security Training will send in a list of all registered students up to 3 days prior to the exam date.
  • Students will notr be able to show up to write the exam if they are not pre-registered before our class list is sent out.
  • Students on that list will then receive a registration acknowledgement email from the JIBC two business days prior to the exam.
    • This e-mail will provide students with their unique JIBC ID number, as well as instructions on how to login to their myJIBC Portal, which is used to access the BST Exam. Please note that you must reset your password after receiving this email by clicking on the Reset your Password link at the bottom of the myJIBC login page.
    • If you do not receive this email, please check your Junk Email folder.
    • All students are asked to test it out beforehand so that they are able to access their JIBC online account at exam time.
    • Students who experience any technical difficulties must contact the JIBC Registration office directly for support (604.528.5590 or toll-free 1.888.528.5591). The Registration Office hours of operation are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:15am to 3:45pm Thursday: 9:30am to 3:45pm
    • Please don't wait until exam day to test out your access, in order to avoid any potential issues with writing your exam.
    • Please note that the exam is password protected; students will not be able to access the exam prior to the start date.

OBTAINING CERTIFICATES (Any certificate courses from the JIBC)

A Certificate of Completion will be automatically produced at the conclusion of the exam for students who receive a passing mark of 60% or higher.

  • Students can log in to their www.myJIBC.ca Portal to print their certificate themselves for up to 30-days following the exam.
  • Anyone requesting a certificate beyond 30 days after the exam date must complete and submit the Certificate Replacement Form to securitytraining@jibc.ca, which will incur a fee of $35.00, plus GST.
